Julie Flower

Julie brings 15 years’ management experience in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors, having held a range of senior commissioning, strategy and programme management roles. Julie is a Cambridge History graduate who began her career as a graduate trainee and internal consultant at Sony Business Europe. She then developed a varied career within the NHS in Kent, Surrey and Sussex, working across primary, community and acute care. As Assistant Director of Strategic Quality at NHS West Kent, Julie was responsible for the £125m commissioning portfolio for people with long-term conditions and for quality improvement within all commissioned services. She also has experience of commissioning from the not-for-profit sector and is passionate about enabling the third sector to effectively deliver public services.

Julie now works independently as a management consultant, executive coach and trainer. Her particular areas of interest include strategy development, leadership, change management and organisational development. Julie is also a Trustee of Carers First in Kent and Medway (one of the country’s largest carers’ organisations) and a Visiting Lecturer on postgraduate programmes in public service management at the University of Brighton, from which she holds an MBA.
