Communication and Networks

“This is a communication challenge

rather than a scientific one”

Sir David Attenborough’s comments on the climate emergency resonate with us at Achill Management. Over the last five years we have been developing effective cross sector collaborations and networks to support businesses to learn from one another and work together to develop shared solutions to the challenges of climate change.

Network

management

We lead and manage a number of sector specific networks for the legal and finance professions including the highly successful Legal Sustainability Alliance (LSA).

Under our leadership the LSA has gone from strength to strength and now has 180 law firm members across the UK, who benefit from advice, consultancy, workshops, events, conversations and regular e-bulletins.

Our Climate Conversation during London Climate Week led to the formation of The Chancery Lane Project, and our current conversations include Public Health and Legal Principles, and Law with Ethics, and the newly formed Legal Renewables Initiative – getting to 100%.

We work with large and small law firms, with partners such as UKELA, Client Earth, Hubbub and The Law Society to ensure sustainability is embedded in practice and thinking.

Charles Russell Speechlys:

” Many of the current projects that we are in the course of implementing have been inspired or undertaken with LSA guidance.”

Burges Salmon:

“Carbon reporting and transparency remains a key priority and we value how the Legal Sustainability Alliance has helped to bring consistency of approach within the legal sector.”

Improvisation for a sustainable future

The challenge of climate change calls for new and innovative approaches. A different way of thinking and behaving for all. Techniques derived from improv comedy promote flexibility of thinking, risk-taking and adaptation and workshops are an enjoyable and challenging way for teams to develop their skills and make positive change.

Leadership and team development consultant and improviser, Julie Flower, is working with Achill Management to deliver a series of workshops across a range of themes including:

  • Adapting to and navigating uncertainty
  • Influencing others
  • Systems leadership
  • Collaboration
